A message from Tina - our director

Here at Scissorbox, we welcome you to a new type of salon experience.
Our bustling studio is full of friendly, passionate hair artists with years of experience who create classic looks and the latest trends. I feel honoured to have served our community for almost 40 years, and now work alongside some of the best in the industry in our very own salon. Our trusted colour specialists tailor each service to your desired look and expertly handle colour corrections.

Where it started...

A message from Tina. our director

While raising my 4 boys, I was hairdressing in a small porch at the side of my house for 17 years on Warren Road in Folkestone. As it was essentially a box-sized room - we aptly named it Scissorbox!

Once my boys had grown, I decided to expand into the front of our home to make room for my growing team. Within 3 years, there were 8 staff members working from my living room! We soon became known for our specialist colour work. The increased demand for our innovative techniques meant that in 2017 we made the bold move of expanding into our incredible premises on Cheriton High Street.

How it's going...

A message from Tina. our director

In December 2017, my husband Simon & I founded specialty coffee shop Captain Webb Coffee Co. at the front of the salon, so everyone can get the best coffee kick and a bite to eat while they are being pampered.

In 2023, we opened Box & Co — a beauty, wellbeing space, along with Regent Barber Shop. Ben, my son, manages "Regent", named after the family business owned by my parents from 1984 on Guildhall Street. Primarily a salon, my parents also incorporated a bar, tea rooms, coffee roastery, gym, beauty spa, steam room, sauna & sunbeds - truly ahead of its time!
